Dungog Common Recreation Reserve Land Manager

ABOUT

The Dungog Common Recreation Reserve Land Manager manages the Dungog common on behalf of Crown Lands. Located to the west of Dungog township the 600+ acres is used for passive recreation with mountain biking, horse riding and bush walking being increasingly enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. The Trust is concentrating on improvement of an environment which has been neglected for decades. Grants have seen renewal of some boundary fences, removal of weeds and woody plants and replanting of vegetation to provide a healthy and attractive habitat for animals and birds. It is not possible to 4WD, ride motor bikes, dump rubbish or gather fire wood at the common. Well behaved dogs can be walked but must be leashed if they start chasing cattle.

Dungog Early Literacy

CATEGORY

Community Group - Not For Profit

ABOUT

We run the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

By donating you are giving the gift of early literacy to children in Dungog. We believe that every child should have the opportunity to read, learn and succeed.

When you place a book in a child’s hands, you’re not just giving them a story. You’re giving them the power to craft their own adventures and dreams.

Through the Imagination Library, brought to you by United Way Australia in collaboration with the Dungog Early Literacy Group, we deliver this magic right into the homes of our famiily.

Every month, a new book arrives at the doorstep of a young learner, ensuring that the journey of learning begins long before school does.

ABOUT

Keen to explore off-the-beaten road by bike? We have mapped and tracked a selection of great MTB rides in the Dungog Shire.

The Dungog Common consists of approximately 600 acres of land on the edge of town. Throughout the ‘Common’, as it is affectionately known, there is a network of mountain biking trails for all types of riders.

But that’s not all. Throughout the area, there are several rides to be enjoyed, from easy to advanced.

Easy – Relatively gentle grades and good surfaces

Intermediate – Includes rough or steep ascents and descents

Advanced – Strenuous rides involving steep ascents and descents over rough terrain. Suitable for fit and experienced riders only.

Go HERE for more details on each of the rides and upcoming events or contact Allen Shrimpton on 0438 922 091.

Event Organiser

ABOUT

The premier agricultural event in the Hunter and Central Coast. Fun for the whole family!

The Tocal Field Days are held every year on the first weekend in May. Our visitors include people on the land who are looking for the latest innovations, hobby farmers and enthusiasts and people just looking for a great day out. Our Exhibitors bring to you all the latest in farming techniques and technologies from solar energy to fencing construction.

Tocal Field Days is a non profit incorporated association with three staff members and an enthusiastic band of volunteers. We work throughout the year to ensure that the event runs smoothly for both exhibitors and visitors. We do not want Tocal Field Days to be a good event, we want it to be the best!
