Future of Farming Forum No. 5 - 17 May 2024

You are invited to our first Future of Farming event for the year on Friday  May 17th 2024 to be held at Dungog RSL auditorium commencing at 4pm. Event will run for 2 hours but we encourage you to stay for chat and dinner afterwards in RSL restaurant.  

Focus for this meeting is SOIL HEALTH, which we hope will unearth great information, and chance for all to ask questions, from backyard gardeners, commercial fruit and vegetable growers to large acre farmers. If you have a desire to get plants or pasture growing, and growing well this a great opportunity to learn. 

For those not familiar with the Future of Farming, the Purpose Statement for this group is: 

The Future of Farming Forum is a subgroup of the Chamber of Commerce. It was formed to engage the community with discussions on developments in primary production in this Shire. Community engagement and networking is a strong focus of this forum, which includes community wellbeing and a sense of belonging.

Format for SOIL HEALTH Event:

There will be 5 panel members plus a brief overview from Hunter Local Land Services on their current efforts in our Region. The Panel members are:

Martin Mead
John Monaghan

There will be a brief introduction from each panel member and then we will move to a facilitated Q and A session.
