The Vacy Village motel is the perfect base to discover this beautiful area. An easy 25 minute drive to Maitland, Morpeth and Dungog/Barrington Tops.
Take a scenic 50 minute drive to the Pokolbin Vineyards, or Newcastle beaches. Or simply discover the beautiful Allyn and Paterson rivers, local Camyr Allyn cellar door and Vacy’s olive and oil producers Bunna Bunnoo olives. There are many historical sites of interest. Tocal Homestead,, Paterson museum, convict built churches, inns and buildings.
A surprisingly large number of our colourful locals descend from the pioneers of the area. Most are very happy to share their families history. You can generally track a few down at one or other of the four pubs in our immediate area or via the Gresford or Paterson historical societies..
We look forward to welcoming you to the Vacy Village Motel. A great place to relax and enjoy a unique country experience.
Flying Duck Camp Oven Cafe
The cafe provides room service to the motel seven days a week. The restaurant opens for functions throughout the year. It is the ideal place for a small wedding reception, birthdays and all kinds of group events. The view from the front deck is wonderful and the cafe is centrally located yet sufficiently secluded to enable us to create an event just right for you. We cater for groups of 10 to 60 people.
about our recent upgrades
The Vacy Village motel, once owned by the pub has been seperately owned for 15 years. Your new hosts, Linda and Peter, recently completed an extension to the motel. The extension provides additional amenities.
Undercover parking for 6 cars, undercover spa and BBQ facility, The Flying Duck Camp Oven Cafe was built to provide meals to the motel 7 days. It is also proving to be a great place to host private functions. A comfortable 3 bedroom cottage with a family bathroom and fully equipt kitchen has been added to the existing 8 rooms to provide family accommodation and suitable accommodation for extended stays.
The rooms have recently been recarpeted and we have added a satelite dish so that all rooms enjoy the Austar facility, as well as some free to air channels.
Peter and I moved to Vacy five years ago as tree changers from Sydney to enjoy a more relaxed lifestyle. After an extensive search of the Hunter we fell in love with the Paterson valley. The scenery, fresh air, swimming holes and rivers. We have fallen equally for the wonderful characters of the valley. Artists, poets, farmers, office workers, chefs, carpenters, inn keepers, publicans all part of one big family in village life.
We hope that you will enjoy the treasures of this area as much as we do and we look forward to welcoming you to the Vacy Village motel soon.
Warm wishes
Peter and Linda
